The type of16PA6-280diesel engine block is naval military diesel engine blockwhich was made for Shanghai HuDong Heavy Machinery Co.Ltd. The casting of engineblock is an integral casting to meet with the design of maximum intensity and maximumstiffness. It used for Installing crankshaft, camshaft, power group, and other parts whichare installed in diesel engine, including installing seat. The inner channel has host oilchannels and the cooling water channel. Because of complex structure, high accuracy ofmachining dimension and precision of shape, this paper will design process scheme of8flask splitting molding by calculating and analyzing the structure of frame, besides thatby using the process of three-dimensional coordinates for hanging core, assembling core,combining core to ensure effectively the accuracy of casting dimension of16VPA6dieselengines frame. And by using MAGMA analog and emulate technology to improve theprocess level of the casting design. Replacing the traditional hand making molds usingCAD/CAM technology to complete frame mold design and its design and itsmanufacture. Using Pro/e advanced modeling techniques to achieve NC Machining offrame. This paper will research the reasonable operating process which can resolve themain technical problems including dimensional precision, metallographic properties andthe verticality of main oil channel. It can make frame material to realize high strengthtoughness ductile iron by using the text of chemical compositions in molten iron, the textof nodulizing treatment and choosing reasonable chemical positions which can meet therequirements of various indexes. And realizing quantization of process parameter,realizing controllable Operation and can adapt batch production. And realize theNationalization of medium-speed diesel engine frame and can reach the internationaladvanced level. Achieving a medium-speed diesel rack localization requirements, andreached the international advanced level.
