The establishment of the die material selection and heat treatment plan is the key of the quality for dies.In traditional process of material and heat treatment selection, the expert experiences is more relied,this method is bound has great limitation.It is necessary to update the traditional plan of the die material and heat treatment selection,especially in nowadays a large number of new materials emerging.Many factors must be considered in the process of material selection for plastic die,such as wear resistance,polishing ability,manufacturability and so on,so we can take die material selection and heat treatment plan as a multi-attribute decision making problem.The research purpose and significance of this thesis are how artificial intelligence theory,decision support technology are used in selecting material and designing heat treatment plan for die parts,and how intelligence decision-making support system(IDSS) for die material selection and heat treatment plan is developed,which possess independent intellectual property and adapts to the field of die design and manufacturing,and has very important theoretical sense and engineering value for the updating and upgrading of plastic die parts.Making full use of the achievement of primary researches,based on the summary of the existing plastic die material application conditions and heat treatment criterion of typical and atypical material,combined with traditional expert system and decision support system,an intelligent decision support system for plastic die material selection and heat treatment plan has been researched and developed for the first time, which is run on Microsoft windows platform,financed by the International Cooperation Item of Jiangsu Province and the Jiangsu University Die Technology Innovation Group Item.Through the synthetic information that users offer the type of plastic parts, material,specification and production amount,series materials are recommended which meet the requires by the expert system module,and then the optimal die material selection and heat treatment plan can be obtained by the decision-making module,the system can provide effective guidance in practical application under the production condition.Main contents and innovations:(1) According to our national application condition of plastic die material, combined with the Access database and the expert experiences in die field,a special system model base has been established.(2) Study on the constitutive relation’ between the properties and the service performance of die materials,the material attributes requirements for the main failure mode of plastic die and special requirements of materials for plastic parts,the information entropy theory was chosen to determine the weight of the attributes,a decision model was developed at the first time by using the ideal solution.(3) Based on the above comprehensive analysis,simulation and modeling of characters and data of known materials,combined inferential mechanism with decision algorithm,intelligent decision technology is used in the die material selection. IDSS for plastic die material selection and heat treatment plan with wide range applicability have many functions such as new dies designing and development, material selection/heat treatment process optimization,study of simulated experiment and so on.
