At present, die materials regardless of its variety, specification, quality and quantity may basically satisfy the needs of modern mold industry. But for a given die part, it is not a easy thing to select a material from the multitudinous materials which can most satisfy service performance requirements and design a good heat treatment plan which matches with the requirements. Because the factors which influence the decision to select material and design heat treatment plan for a given die part are extremely complex and indefinite, the expert experiences will be more relied when one selects a material and designs a heat treatment plan corresponding to the material. The research purpose and significance of this thesis are how expert system technology, computer technology and database technology are used in selecting material and designing heat treatment plan for die part, and how expert system, which adapts to the field of die design and manufacture, for die material selection and heat treatment plan is developed.Based on the basic principle of selecting materials for die parts, the heat treatment criterion of typical parts and the field experiences, with the aid of computer technology, expert system technology and database technology, an expert system for die material selection and heat treatment plan has been researched and developed which is run on Microsoft windows platform.Through the synthetic information that users offer stamp type, stamp-part material, size precision, surface roughness, as well as plate thickness and production amount, applying forward reasoning mechanism based on the rule, or through a given die part and applying reversed reasoning mechanism, and combining the expert data in knowledge-base, the system may recommend users a series of die materials and heat treatment plans which meet service conditions for a given die part. At the same time, the paper has optimized the user interface, increased the function of the system auto-learn and the function of expanding the knowledge database, the mold material database and the heat treatment plan database, lets users in the software using process also be possible to enrich and perfect unceasingly expert knowledge so that usesselect more reasonably and accurately materials for die part...
