Automatic pipe connection system is an important part of automatic drilling. This has been researched since 1990s abroad, but in China, its research and application is relatively less. The root connecting job is almost done before drilling in China. Top drive system should connected roots at first and then use them for drilling, which prolonging the drilling cycle greatly.This issue is raised under such situation, and its main goal is to design an automatic drill pipe connection system for the ZJ70DHY oil derrick.This thesis focuses on the study of general arrangement, structural design, and finite element analysis of the automatic drill pipe connection system. Those tasks have been completed in this thesis as follows:First, reading through the research and literature to understand the domestic and foreign auto-connect system technology drill status, then determined the drill pipe automatically connection basic principles and preliminary structural design. Secondly, detailing design drill pipe rotating system, transferring system and lifting system and make use of the SolidWorks to create the 3D model of the whole system. Thirdly, by means of the ANSYS finite element analysis software to analysis static, vibration and the stability performance of the drill pipe rotating system to make it more reasonableFinally, make use of the AutoCAD software to create blueprints of the whole system and each component.
