The Theme of Inertial Confinement Fusion(ICF) and ultra-fast and ultra-intense lasers are established in the Project of National High Technology Research and Development Program 863. ICF has very important significance in the national energy security and national defense security. The microtarget is the basis and guarantee of the ICF to carry out the ignition. The position between micro-sphere, which is the key part of the microtarget, and the microtarget has directly effect on the success of the ignition experiment.On the basic of the existing hardware frame of online monitoring system, the system control software had been written based on modularization wethod. A lot of tests and experiments had been done on the site experiments of the micro-target assembly. The loading target experiment on the site showed that the target of micro-target automatic assembly had been accomplished.The internal control of online monitoring system had been accomplished. The coordinates of systems were unified by experiments. The modularization of ethernet communication was further perfected. The precision motion was realization by using closed loop control based on system error analysis. Multiple protections for the security of the system were provided. The design of the human-computer interface was completed.Cooperation had been accomplished between upper control system and online monitoring system. Based on experiments, a clarity evaluation function was selected, and the image auto-focus of the assembly process was achieved, by using the strategy based on focus searching, combined with large step-length and small step-length. Ultimately, the accuracy and the stability of the micro-image measuring system were improved. the communication with the upper control system was completed on the basic of the technological process of micro-target automatic assembly.During long time debug-experiment on the site, the online monitoring system showed perfect functions, simple operations and reliable performance. It reached the expected target which passed the project assessment.
