Ceramic valve core, controlling the rate and on-off of flow by rotating the valve stem, has excellent sealing performance and long service life, and is widely used in faucet. There are certain difficulties in its automatic assembly because of large quantities, irregular shape of components, and high precision requirement for assembly, therefore manual assembly are now still widely used. This paper designed an automatic assembly system for ceramic valve core based on enterprise’s practical requirement. The main work is as follows:1. Analyze the structure and composition of ceramic valve core; Design the overall scheme of the system based on automation and control theory. Design the scheme of conveyer, feeding device, assembly manipulator, detecting device and control unit. Determine the ten-station form of assembly machine.2.Design the specific implementation scheme for assembly machine based on the design ideas and principles in the designing process. Give a brief introduction to mechanical structure and working principle of all stations and detail the core station. Optimize the design of mechanical structure based on prototype debugging.3.Study the machine vision technology, which was used to achieve the pinpoint of ceramic disk. Analyze the functional requirement and hardware structure of the machine vision system, study the image processing algorithms and process of software design, design the corresponding mechanical device and control unit.4.Analyze the basic requirement and major task of control system. Give a brief introduction to Mitsubishi Q series PLC and select the related component modules. Introduce the hardware structure, overall flow, and program control.5.Complete the manufacturing of related parts and assembly and adjustment of whole machine. Prototype machine worked in good condition which achieved the requirement of design parameters and expectations.
