Recently the wind source as the new and recyclable energy with alternative of lowcost and clean, high technologies with high reliability has been well developed. As well asthe wind source is the key role of facing the global energy shortage and supplication risk.With abundant wind source and the plan of the 12thfive year of the energy technology inour country, the development of wind industry was highly declared. The research andinnovation ability of wind generation has to be improved, which minimize technologicalgap compared with the world class level. The switched reluctance generator (SRG) systemis characterized by unique speed control, flexible parameter adjustment and high operatingefficiency. As the key component in the wind generator such system has identified to theresearch and application value, as well as broad prosperity.Traditionally, the open loop control strategy is often used. However, the dynamicresponse of the generator to the wind converse system is not satisfied. In this dissertation,the close loop control strategy of an SRG system is discussed under low operating speed.First, based on the studied system, the wind and its capture theorem are developed.Then, the operating principles of SRG, setup of the working database, as well as theworking modes of two different topologies of power transferors are briefly introduced.Next, the working theorems, the pros and cons of the different 3 traditional controlstrategies under lower wind speed is analyzed and discussed.Secondly, based on a four-phase 8/6 SRG, the optimized PI controller is found outand devoted in a generator system driven by Variable generation voltage converter. It isconcluded by simulations that the stability of the closed power loop can be achieved.Meanwhile, the optimal wind energy transform was realized by using the maximize powertracking technology (MPPT) in this system.Finally, the hardware of the SR wind system is designed based on the existingexperimental platform. The close loop control strategy is verified by experiment that thetheoretical validity and feasibility is achieved.
