The traction substation automation system is the basic to guarantee the stable and safeoperation of the electrical railway. Whether the feeder protection device can function steadilyand reliable is very important to stability of the whole traction nets, so it has a positivepractical significance to further research and designs it. The research on the microprocessorbased protection and measuring-controlling unit using the state-of-the-art microprocessortechnology becomes the main work of this dissertation. In this paper, we use the latestmicrocomputer protection technology development efforts to research the microcomputerfeeder protection device which is an important part of electrified railway traction substationautomation system.This paper designs the technology renovation of feeder protection device, which adoptsnew hardware and embedded operating system, the hardware system uses32bitmicroprocessor S3C2440produced by Samsung company, software system is based onoutstanding performance and open source embedded operating system Linux. Hardwaresystem core circuit uses64MB of NAND Flash and64MB of SDRAM, Expansion circuitincluding analog acquisition circuit、switch input and output circuit、communication interfacecircuit、power supply circuit and reset circuit, To ensure system quick start and the massstorage and, the system extension circuit including Nor Flash, USB interface circuit, etc. Thepaper repots Linux to my2440, task division, to determine the priority of the task, anddevelops microcomputer feeder protection software based on Linux. This paper focuses on thewhole hardware design process, including schematic design, PCB layout and alignment,making board, soldering, debugging and the transplantation of Linux.The traction substation feeder protection device mentioned in this paper is reasonablenovel from the overall plan and design idea. After the commissioning, it can completelysatisfy traction substation feeder protection to achieve the basic task.
