Missile cover is an important component of the system of missile storing and launching, notonly have a certain pressure capability, to prevent the internal gas leaking out, also protect themissile inside. As the lightweight of modernization missile forces and the rapid operationalrequirements increasing, the traditional metal cover such as the mechanical opening cover and theblasting cover has been replaced by the composite missile cover which has been the developmenttrends of the missile cover.The integrated frangible composite diaphragm cover has been applied in some models, butbecause of the quality of the main part which is separated would create a potential threat to theperipheral devices. Therefore, the separate process of the integrated frangible compositediaphragm cover is studied in this article, by setting different weak areas of strength to achieve thepurpose.First, to do the research on the damage expansion of the structure of the weak area of thecover, getting the whole process, initial injury, extended until the final failure of the weak areas,under the tensile load, by defining the zero-thickness interface element to simulate the cementinterface by cohesive behavior in ABAQUS. Determing the tensile strength of the weak areas anddiscussing the changes in structural parameters.Second, to define the weak areas by the elastic-plastic material which could be failed inDYTRAN,also the separation of the cover by the impact load will be researched. The influence ofthe separating direction of the cover by the strength changes along the circumferential of the coverwill be analysised, the final design of the cover will be determined.Finally, making the covers with the different strength of the weak areas and doing thesimulated breaking tests. The viability of the design will be validated.
