With the continuous upgrading of missile launching device, missile launcher cover has also beenrapidly developed, and its performance directly affects the whole weapon system combat capability.Because of the advantages of specific stiffness, strength, fatigue resistance, anisotropic, design andmany other characteristics, composite missile launcher cover has become a research hotspot in thefield of missile launching device at home and abroad.First of all, the preliminary structure of cover is designed according to the technical requirements.Double-side lapping process is applied for the weak area structure and a new kind of compositesandwich is applied for the structure of the launcher cover. Have a research on weak area damageexpansion of the structure of the weak area of the cover by using cohesive element contact to simulatethe cement interface in ABAQUS. Obtain the whole process of the initial injured and extended untilfinal failure of the weak area. Determining the tensile strength of the weak areas and discussing thechanges of it in different structural parameters.Second, a FEM-based numerical strategy and means is proposed to simulate the separationbehavior of cover under impacting from four cylinders in different position and different impactingspeed. According to the design scheme combined with the results of the numerical simulation, thestructure parameters of cover are optimized. The final numerical simulation results show that theoptimized scheme greatly shorten the failure time of the weak area, which improves the forces abilityof fighting reaction and meets the needs of the present war.In accordance with the design scheme requirements, a test sample is made to finish a series oftests. Comparing these results between tests and numerical simulation, the design idea is verified to becorrect. And the results are matched with the FEM solution well.
