For the telescopic landing gear, the wheels are fixed in axle which is on the end of the shockabsorber’ strut. The shock absorber will suffer pressure, bending and torsion. When the aeroplane takesoff, lands, brake or slide, the wheels may swing because of the bad aerodrome. Thus, the strut of shockabsorber will suffer torsion. The torque arm can tansfer the torsion from the strut to the canister of theshock absorber so it keeps away the rotation between the strut and canister. The design andoptimization of torque arm is significant for the safety of taking off, landing of an aeroplane and it canalso reduce the weight of the landing gear. However, there is few researches on the torque arm at homeand abroad. With the development of finite element method and computer technology, finite element analysisplays more and more important rule during the mechanical analysis and optimization. The simulationswith the finite element software will become more larger, complicated and exactness.Based on Ansys, it analyzes the strength of the Torque Arm in landing gear system and optimizessome details of the structure. The assembly of multi-body system and the setting up of the contacteffect are concerned in this structure. It discusses the loading and constraints on these complicatedmembers subjected to torsion. This thesis can provide aircraft designers with some new methods and atrain of thought.
