With the development of computer virtual reality technology, computer simulation is widely usedin many fields, such as military training, space flight, weapon countermine, medical research and soon. The simulation system design of the dynamic response of helicopter on ground is the applicationof computer simulation technology on stability analysis when the helicopter’s rotor starts on ground. In this paper, the dynamic response of the helicopter’s rotor/fuselage/landing gears/tail rotor coupledsystem is analyzed when the helicopter’s rotor starts on ground, and a visible simulation system iscompleted based on OpenGL and Visual C++6.0platform. Data and information of helicopter’sdegree of freedom is visibly displayed though the system.Firstly, a nonlinear dynamic model of the helicopter’s rotor/fuselage/landing gears/tail rotorcoupled system is established based on the method of multi-body dynamics. The model applied todynamic response analysis of helicopter with three landing gears or four landing gears when thehelicopter’s rotor starts on ground.Secondly, a dynamics equation is established based on the model with the generalized Hamiltonprinciple, and the equation is solved by the fourth order Runge-Kutta method. Effects on system arestudied by different configurations of landing gears. The dynamic response of the helicopter’s rotor/fuselage/landing gears/tail rotor coupled system is calculated after considering aerodynamic force ontail rotor, and compare with the results without consideration of aerodynamic force on tail rotor, proving the correctness of established model. In the end, in order to reflect the physical motion of helicopter visually when the helicopter’srotor starts on ground, helicopter simulation model is designed by OpenGL and the frame ofsimulation system is completed on Visual C++6.0platform, detailed description of simulation systemis illustrated.
