Research And Development Of Driving And Simulation System For A Typical Single Rotor Helicopter With Tail Rotor

Helicopter driving simulation system is a combination product of system simulation and helicopter flight dynamics. In recent years, the ground flight driving training system with high accuracy and more realistic is possible as the rapid development of helicopter flight dynamics modeling techniques.System simulation technology, especially virtual reality technology, provides a faster path of development for helicopter flight simulation. As helicopter flight simulation systems involving helicopter flight dynamic, helicopter structure, helicopter flight data, computer hardware and software and many other aspects, the development of helicopter drive system is still not mature. A simplified dynamic model for a pilot in loop helicopter is presented in the paper. Rotor dynamic model is established using momentum theory and blade element theory; tail rotor dynamic model is built base on Bailey principle; for fuselage, vertical tail and horizontal tail, local inflow is determine first, then calculated their angle of attack and sideslip angle. Dynamics model can be interpolated with angle of attack and sideslip using fight data curve. A landing gear model is presented based on spring and damper. A linear model is presented for helicopter turboshaft engine model.Helicopter real-time driving system is implemented using C# as programming language, Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 as compile platform, Microsoft XNA3.0 Game Studio as simulation platform. Structure of the driving simulation system is constructed. Motion model with six degrees of freedom for helicopter is built by integrated each part dynamics model of helicopter. Interaction model between input device and helicopter driving systems is built. Helicopter real-time control on flight simulation is implemented after linking visual module for the helicopter driving system.
