Brake control system is a vital component of the city railway trains. MBCU is the core of Brakecontrol system, which ensures the successful operation of the entire SBC. Researching and developinga microcomputer braking control unit (MBCU) with Chinese own intellectual property can not onlybreak down the present situation of relying on MBCU import, but also can reduce the production costof China’s city railway trains. This paper focuses on designing and developing a new type of MBCUwith the high reliable ARM STM32F103VB chip based on single-axis control. The first part will give a overall view of the trains brake control system and the current situation. Inaddition, this paper will analyse the weak points of the current brake control system. With comparison,it will come to the advantages of the single axis control system. Besides, this paper will illustrate theoverall design plan of MBCU which is based on the single axis control system. In addition, this paper designs the hardware circuit based on the STM32F103VB MBCU. Then amethod of calculation and distribution is put forward based on the single axis control power. In orderto improve the control accuracy of the braking force and the steadiness of the city trains at the brakingperiod, a braking control algorithm based on fuzzy PID control is also introduced in this paper. Thesoftware programming is finished in this part of the paper. It is know that the traditional braking control system is difficult to maintain and has theshortcomings of the poor visualization. This paper designs a braking control system with another layerof monitoring management unit based on the traditional one and completes the monitoringmanagement unit design of hardware circuit and software program. Because of the designrequirements of the unit function, the paper transplants two softwares--FatFS Module and μC/GUIto the unit. Finally in the laboratory environment, this paper builds a set of test system and carries experimentaltests to MBCU and monitoring management unit. Through the analysis of the test results, it isconcluded that the design has met the expected design requirements.
