The aim of this paper is to design and optimize fast response, high efficiencyvoice coil motor that used to drive the misfiring pull-cord of diesel engine. The dieselengine flameout pull-cord is pulled by hand or the rotary motor in traditional, wepropose to use the voice coil motor to drive the misfiring pull-cord. The voice coilmotor can produce linear motion directly, so the belt, gear and other intermediate is notnecessary in the drive system. It greatly reduces the energy consumption, saves thecost, and improves the system response speed and control precision. However, themajor circle doesn’t introduce too much of the voice coil motor detail design process.The designer’s experience is an important factor in the magnetic circuit design of voicecoil motor. In addition, although the permanent magnetic material is developingquickly, the function is higher and higher while the price gradually reduced. At the costof the permanent magnet motor, permanent magnet material still has very largeproportion. Through the reasonable design of the voice coil motor magnetic circuitstructure, we can use a minimum of permanent magnetic materials to produce themagnetic flux density and to meet the requirement in motor working air gap, which isvery essential. We made a detailed introduction of the method that the design of thevoice coil motor via further study of the design steps and structural optimization ofcylindrical voice coil motor, and optimized the structure of the voice coil motor.First, through the study of the principle and the structure of voice coil motor, wecan set up its dynamic mathematical model.Then, This paper made a detailed account of the design of voice coil motorgeneral steps, including the design principles of the voice coil motor, permanentmagnetic material, soft magnetic material selection, calculation of working point ofpermanent magnet and pole area, the voice coil design, the voice coil motor magneticfield is simulated by using the finite element analysis with ANSYS software, find out the factor that influence the air gap magnetic field.Finally, optimize the motor selection, structure and other aspects. The voice coilmotor air gap flux density increase effectively by using high performance NdFeBpermanent magnet. The insulating bracket reduces the energy loss, and the increasingof the voice coil length leads to the increasing of the motor drive strength. The air gapflux density can be greatly improved by using composite magnetic circuit structure.
