With the development of social economic, waste rubber tire annual productiongradually increases, the waste tire processing has become a major problem. It is animportant method for recycling waste rubber tires to use the rubber granules inhighway construction, which are obtained from the crushing waste tires. Domesticstudy on rubber modified asphalt started earlier, but for the research that rubbergranules as aggregate join in the asphalt mixture started later. In this paper, theapplication is studied that the rubber particles as aggregate join in the asphalt mixture, and the rubber particles bituminous concrete properties are studied using finite elementanalysis. The research mainly includes the following aspects:1. Summary and conclusion of international research on rubber asphalt mixtureis conducted, the research methods and research content are put forward from thedomestic and foreign research results.2. For the performance characteristics of the rubber particles, adding theparticles into the asphalt mixture will inevitably have an impact on performance of it.In this paper, the shape characteristics of the rubber particles, mechanical propertiesand microscopic characteristics are studied.3. Petroleum asphalt, SBS modified asphalt and different particle size of rubberparticles are using respectively, and the Marshall test of Level1highway is conducted. The Marshall Test result using different asphalt and rubber particles of the mixture isanalyzed. Rutting test using SBS modification of asphalt and small size rubberparticles is conducted, the high temperature stability of the mixture is analyzed.4. Marshall Test and rutting test are applied to other levels of road using rubberparticles asphalt mixture, the Marshall Test results and high temperature stability isanalyzed.5. Numerical simulation of the rubber particles asphalt mixture used in the asphalt concrete pavement under actual road conditions is conducted. For the rubberparticles asphalt mixture and ordinary asphalt pavement surface structure, the shearstress of the pavement structure, pavement deflection and bottom of the pull bendingstress are simulated and analyzed.
