Optimal gear-driven design is greatly important in modern machine design. Withthe continuous development of optimization technology, intelligent optimizationmethods, such as genetic algorithm, simulated annealing etc, with its advantages ofhigh-effective optimization performance, needing no special information for theproblem and with its global search capacity, has received extensive attention, and hasbeen widely applied to many domains. It has become a powerful instrument to solveproject difficulties, and can be used as an effective alternative method for theoptimization design for optimal gear-driven design. The article researched into a newmethod of optimal gear-driven based on genetic algorithm with the programme of VBfor the purpose of finding a convenient and practical measure. The optimal gear-drivendesign model was established, using the programme of VB method how to solve gearparameter optimization was introduced.Based on the above optimized results, Theparameterized design3D gear mould was established,which is important to speed upthe development and application of CAD technology.In this paper, toothnumber, normal modulus, coefficient of toothwidth and helixangle are designed as optimal variables, contact stress and bending stress are designedas constraints, miniumum volume and maximum film thickness are designed to beoptimal objectives, thus a multi-objectives optimal math model for single helix geartransmission is set up. When genetic algorithm is applied to solve above model, a hybridcoding method is designed to improve the crossover and mutation methods by combinginteger code and real-number code.As to an optimal design for common secondary standard helix gear reducer wherethere are9optimal design variables, the optimization is more complicated. Aiming atthese questions, an adaptive improved genetic algorithm is designed.An optimal design programma is edited based on VB programming conditions.This optimal method is effective and practical by example calculation.In relation to the topic of establishing three-dimensional parameter model on theSolidWorks, the paper introduces the necessity of the secondary development and itsgeneral regulation.The work that the author has done mainly includes several aspects asfollower:The technology of redevelopment of SolidWorks,which includes the principleof redevelopment,the methods of redeveloment and the tools of redevelopment. The design idea of feature-based parameterized design combining with the technology offeature modeling and parameterized design was established.A3D parameterized CADsystem of involute gear has been designed with VB.In this paper, the involute gear CADmodeling system,is based on the features,parameters,modular,the system is easy touse,easy to maintain and expend,load in SolidWorks as a module to generate gearautomatically,improving the speed of modeling gear,laiding the foundation forimproving design efficiency.
