Along with the railway and the subway to build in our country.shield machinehad been an indispensable instrument in Tunneling process.Currently,research aboutthe shield machine is lagging behind relatively in our country.As a a critical componentof the shield machine,the digding performance of cutter head influrces directly digdingefficiency and the longevity of the cutter head.During the digging process,theunbalanced force created by the cutter head is a key factor to the digging performanceof shield machine.The unbalanced force is synthetically created by kinds ofcutters,therefore,the rationality of the cutter layout is an important embodiment of thecutter head digging performance.In the ideal cutter layout,the radial force andoverturning moment should be zero is the principle of the whole process.which canensure great digging performance and life span.The thesis,mainly,analyses the integral structure and digging performance of thecutter head.also,carried out a dynamic simulation to cutter head by examplemodeling.In this paper, the variety, operating principle and stress condition are allanalysed. It introduced the rock-breaking mechanism and stress predicting formula ofthe hob cutter.It created force equilibrium equations of the cutter head,and introducedthe laying out of the cutter head based on that equations.It calculates the force of allkinds of cutters,analyses the cutter head strength,he rationality of the cutter layout andinfluence created by positional error from the cutter to digging performance of theshield machine.In addition, it causes difficulty to manufacture due to too big size ofthe main rolling bearing. for that reason it analyses the main rolling bearing,modifiedits size.and it analyses the contact stress, strength and lifetime.
