With the implementation of the decision-making of China’s western developmentstrategy, the western region’s infrastructure construction has been an unprecedenteddevelopment. During to the special environmental landforms, in the process of theengineering construction, we often encounter the problem of highly fill and ferret out inthe western mountain. So the resulting high slope deformation and stability issues arevery prominent. Relative to the low slope, the deformation and failure mechanisms ofhigh slope are more complex. Therefore, an accurate analysis of the high-slopedeformation and the enforcement to ensure the stability of the normal operating periodto meet the security requirements have become the key technical issues in theapplication of slope engineering. In this paper, the analysis of stability and optimization of enforcements of the highsoil fill slope have been studied. As a starting point for the research, one soil high fillslope project has been used to explore the form of the soil high fill slope deformationand failure, and to analyze the mechanism of action and sensitivity of the high soil slopestability factors. Limit equilibrium method and finite element strength reduction areused to analyze and study the soil high fill slope, focusing on the analysis of its stabilityand the deformation and failure mechanisms. By comparing one of the two results of thetwo calculation methods with the other, the deformation and failure mechanisms of highsoil fill slope have been summarized and the comprehensive evaluation of the stabilityof the high slope have been done. Based on the deformation and failure characteristicsof high soil fill slope and geological conditions of the engineering, four enforcementswere been proposed in this paper. And the method of entropy weight multi-objectivedecision which considered the six evaluation indexes was used to optimize the four enforcements. Analysis of the reinforcement mechanism of the optimal enforcement andthe numerical simulation have been done to further analyze the mechanicalcharacteristic of the of high fill slope protection structures after treatment.
