Due to the requirement of production process in industrial buildings and thefunction of large public buildings, abnormal joints were used in steel reinforced concretestructures inevitably. Owing to the complicated stress of the steel reinforced concreteabnormal interior joints and many influencing factors on these joints, it has importanttheoretical significance and practical value to carry out the study of these joints. In this paper, combined with the pseudo-static experiment of six steel reinforcedconcrete abnormal interior joints, large-scale finite element software ANSYS was used toanalyze the failure mode, stress mechanism, seismic performance and shear capacity ofthe steel reinforced concrete abnormal interior joints. Through the comparative analysisof the finite element calculation results and the experimental results, the rationality andreliability of the ANSYS finite element analysis were verified.By the method of controlling variables, influences of the staggered floor, the axialcompression ratio, steel, concrete and stirrups on the shear capacity were studied. Finiteelement analysis shows that the staggered floor as the unique feature of the steelreinforced concrete abnormal interior joints is a key factor for the load transfer of thejoints. When the two-beam steel flanges staggered, the transfer mechanism is similar tothe conventional edge joints, however, when the two-beam steel flanges lapped, thetransfer mechanism is similar to the conventional interior joints. As the axial load waseccentric, additional moment was generated by the eccentric axial force, which causedthe overlying of the internal force of eccentric side of the steel reinforced concreteabnormal interior joints and exacerbated the destruction of the joints.Joints’ reaction forces and the limit horizontal loads were extracted from the ANSYSnonlinear finite element analysis results to calculate the limit shear of the joint core areawhere shear failure occurred. The form of shear capacity design formula of the interior joints of steel reinforced concrete beams-steel reinforced concrete columns in Technicalspecification for Steel Reinforced Concrete Composite Structure (JGJ138-2001) wasreferred to establish the formula of the steel reinforced concrete abnormal interior joints.Suggested shear capacity formula of the steel reinforced concrete abnormal interior jointswas established after using the linear regression method to work out the influencecoefficients of various factors as staggered floor, axial load ratio, steel, stirrups andconcrete.
