The thermal performance of the wall is one of the most important factors effectingbuilding energy consumption, it is not only related with the thermal parameter likematerial thermal resistance and heat storage coefficient, but also withits constructionform. Also, the thermal performance of the walls is not the same under differentbuilding operating modes. The paper is mainly based on the experiment tests, and takesthe computer simulation as complementary method, researchingthe thermalperformance of residential wall in the natural environment at the hot summer and coldwinter area.Based on the using situation of local wall materials and the wall thermalperformance and heat preservation material usestandards, we took Chongqing as anexample, chose external heat preservationwall, innerheat preservation wall and self heatpreservation wall, built anexperimental platform and carried out the thermalperformance experiment of the residential wall under natural environment.Use the theoretical calculation and analysis methods, attenuation and delay toindoor and outdoor temperature of three kinds of wall were comparedat the same indoorand outdoor temperature in the natural environment. Self heat preservation wall has themaximal thermal inertia coefficientand the maximal attenuation to temperature waves, external heat preservation wallis the second, inner heat preservation wall is the minimal.Measured data offour different natural temperature conditions in two seasonswasanalyzed. Three kinds of wall surface mean temperature has little difference. However, innerheat preservation wall has the highest reflected speed to environment temperatureand best ventilation cooling effect. Thermal heat flow direction through the wall is notonly the same in the changing condition of indoor and outdoor environment.Wecalculatedthe heat storage of the wall and the heat through either side of the wall.Innerheat preservation wall has the lowest heat transfer, external heat preservationwalland selfheat preservation wallhave different heat transfer in different seasons. From the view of the wall thermal stability, ventilation cooling effect, heattransferquantity, Thermal performance of the wall was comprehensively analyzed underdifferent natural temperatures. In hot summer and cold winter area, inner heatpreservation wall is the best choice in the natural temperature environment, externalheat preservation wall is better than self heat preservation wall due to its performance in summer.Using DeST to calculate the natural temperature of the different building under thesame wall heat transfer coefficient with different insulation types, we can find that thebuilding with inner heat preservation wall`s acceptable temperature area under nonheating and air conditioning operation mode is the longest, and with the minimal airconditioning hours, so that it helps to reduce the use of air-conditioning equipment andalso the energy consumption.
