The demand for the stability and reliability of wind turbine gearbox is much higherwith the rapid development of wind power industry. Further study on the strength ofwind turbine gearbox planetary gear drive can be a guidance to improve gear bearingcapacity and transmission stability. In this thesis, the main study object is1.5MW windturbine gearbox planetary gear transmission system and the research on the strength ofplanetary gear transmission with flexible pine was conducted.The main contents of this thesis are shown as followed:1. The analysis of popular structure forms and their advantages and disadvantageswere performed. The basis structure and transmission principle of1.5MW turbinegearbox with flexible pine as well as the principle of equilibrating load were introducedwhich provided the theoretical foundation for the analysis of wind turbine gearboxstrength.2. The calculation and analysis of contact strength, bending strength of1.5MWwind turbine gearbox planetary gear transmission with flexible pine as well as thebending stress and deflection of the flexible pine were conducted which provided thetheoretical foundation for the finite analysis and experimental research of the windturbine gearbox with flexible pine.3.3D model of the wind turbine gearbox planetary gear transmission system wasbuilt by Pro/Engineer. Numerical simulation of contact strength, bending strength ofplanetary gear transmission as well as the bending stress and deflection of flexible pinewere conducted and compared with the result of classical mechanics which verified thereliability of the finite element model.4. The experimental study on tooth root bending stress of annular gears used inwind turbine planetary gear system with flexible pine was conducted, verifying thereliability of the theoretical analysis.
