Electric power-assisted steering system (Electric Power Steering System, EPS forshort) is a new type of intelligent power-assisted steering system. It solves thelong-standing contradiction between the steering light steering sensitivity, especially whenturning the process of enhancing vehicle handling and stability. More and morecar-manufacturers initiate energy-saving, environmental protection, safety, comfort, andother advantages of electric power steering system. Therefore, research on EPS controltheory and methods have important theoretical and practical significance on thedevelopment of intelligent cars. With the development of computer technology, thetechnology platform for EPS system modeling and simulation was created by CarSimvehicle multi-body dynamics software, scientific and engineering computation softwareMATLAB mature.This article relies on Guangxi Science Fund Project which named that "based onimmune theory of modeling and control of automobile electric power steering system".The EPS is on the basis of an in-depth study with CarSim software vehicle dynamic model,and establish EPS control system model in MATLAB software. CarSim is combined withthe MATLAB, electric power steering system with a combination of vehicle models and aco-simulation study.First, this article describes the EPS system development process, current research,and elaborate CarSim software application in vehicle dynamics studies at home andabroad. Some problems existing in the current EPS control strategy, improvement ofmethods. Secondly, based on multi-body dynamics theory, vehicle models was establishedin CarSim software. By simulation of the vehicle, some shortcomings of its steeringperformance has been found.Again, in the composition and structure of the electric power steering system basedon the study on assist characteristic of EPS, and based on the semi-empirical formula,determine the linear power curve parameters. Established EPS model by MATLAB,designing EPS control is based on predictive control strategy and model of the vehicle inCarSim, EPS control in MATLAB model of joint simulation. This control strategy isapplied to different vehicle models, the test results showed that validity of the EPS controlstrategy based on predictive control algorithm.Finally, the study of EPS under the vehicle in reverse impulse response controlmethod, control compensation control strategy based on Artificial Immune Booster motoroutput current and by the amplitude-frequency complex filtering to filtering the control signal processing, so as to further improve control effectiveness. By CarSim andMATLAB on a joint platform for real-time simulation shows that the improvement ofcontrol strategy for vehicle stability are obvious.
