With the increasing requirement to operation statbility, system reliability, research cost anddevelopment period of modern aeroengines, FADEC (Full Authority Digital Electronic Control)system has been making great progress. Aircraft power plant modeling and control are discussed inthis paper, including the design and simulation of aircraft Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) grey model,the design and implementation of configuration platform for engine control system software.First, the grey model of APU is designed and demonstrated. The basic concept of grey modelingand design methods are put forward which can combine the advantages of analytical modeling andsystem identification modeling methods. With the consideration of structure characteristics andoperation principles, the modeling requirement analysis has been carried out. After analysis of rig testdata and thermodynamical computation, a grey model of APU has been established, and then thedigital simulation platform of APU is developed. The digital simulation and hardware-in-loopsimulation were carried out. Comparing with the rig test data, the simulation results, which achieve thesteady-state error less than3%and maximum dynamic error less than5%, show that the modelingmethods meet the design requirement of aeroengine control system.Secondly, the design and development techniques of configurable software for aero engine controlare discussed. A Visual C++platform based configurable software of aero engine control system iscarried out and the software implementation mechanisms is emphasized. The framework of theconfigurable software is established, then the graphical configuration design of engine controlsoftware, online simulation and automatic code generation functions are realized. The database ofcomplete control algorithms and subroutines is constructed based on database techniques. All-digitalsimulation and hardware-in-loop simulation results validated the feasibility and real-time performanceof the configurable software.
