According to the problems that the disjunction of the aircraft assembly simulation and assemblytolerance analysis, complexity of automatic generation of assembly dimension chain and lack ofprecision in existing methods of tolerance analysis, as well as associating with National NaturalScience Foundation Project of China, National Science and Technology Major Project of China andAeronautical Science Foundation Project of China, aircraft assembly tolerance analysis are deeplystudied. The main achievements of this paper are as follows:1. Aircraft assembly tolerance analysis technology based DELMIA is researched. Based onaircraft assembly tolerance analysis technology, a system has been developed based on DELMIA. Thefunction structure and architecture of whole system are described and key technologies included inaircraft assembly tolerance analysis technology are researched. The disjunction of the aircraftassembly simulation and assembly tolerance analysis is solved and integrity of product informationmodel when transferring between different software is guaranteed.So the efficiency of aircraftassembly simulation and assembly tolerance analysis is improved.2. The method of automatic generation of assembly dimension chain based on tolerance cell isproposed. This method implements this function through obtaining assembly tolerance cell and parttolerance cell including analyzing product’s assembly information model, expressing these two typesof tolerance cell in the form of linked list structure in computer, then searching the assemblydimension chain automatically based on obtained tolerance cell,and extracting the correct assemblydimension chain finally. Lots of man-machine interactions are induced and the efficiency ofgenerating assembly dimension chain automatically is improved.3. The method of assembly tolerance analysis based on the convolution method is researched.Traditional methods of assembly tolerance analysis are analyzed and error distribution ruler ofcomposition loop is summarized. Error distribution ruler of closed loop is derived based onconvolution principle.Methodological error and statistical error are avoided and accuracy of assemblytolerance analysis is improved.4. A system of aircraft assembly tolerance analysis has ben developed based on DELMIA andsuccessfully deployed in aircraft assembly simulation in the engineering practice. This system reducesmuch repetitive work, improves the efficiency of assembly simulation, and ensures accuracy ofassembly tolerance analysis.
