When it stretches cross the sky and turninto a perceived arts, which could also impress the citizens with the mergencebetween nature and human intelligence. In terms of this situation, it is not only thecity’s memory that recalls people the material culture and spiritual culture of the city,but also the city’s impression, like fingerprints, that reflects the unique character andappearance of the whole city.Nowadays, with the effect of the globalization and the advanced technology, alarge number of high-rise buildings are built in some major cities, with their tall image,which could weaken the local character and the difference between these major cities,while the city memory is demolished with the undermined skyline. We seem to befaced with an indisputable fact-Many attractive skyline is being ruthlessdestruction. Therefore, how to let the skyline merge into the design area and todemonstrate the city character perfectly will become the general considerable issue bythe humanity.According to the situation of lacking necessary theory and design instruction,this essay proposes to do the research based on the essential theory at the beginning,and then it analyses some excellent precedents about the city skyline from all over theworld. Furthermore, it analyses the development history and dynamic change ofskyline of Qingdao through the evolution processes of skyline from the eastern andwestern countries, after that, we also summarize all kinds of factors and the mainissues influencing the Qingdao skyline. Besides, we do the practical research in thecoastal skyline of three significant areas in Qingdao. Finally, we summarize manygeneral methods to control the city’s skyline.
