In recent years, the towing equipments such as mooring platform and underwatervehicle, have developed fast in the direction of high speed and large travel, but the cranetowers which used as pilot system mostly, is still in the low speed and short trip level. Thispaper puts forward the constant tension hydraulic winch as test system, the hydraulic winchshould satisfy the requirements of many different tower equipments performance test,through controlling the tension of cable to analog towering equipments’ load. This paper hasresearched essentially both in theory and engineering.In the research of the hydraulic system, electro-hydraulic proportional control methodsare applied to modulate the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the hydraulicmotor, control the export tension of the hydraulic motor, realize the cable tension control.Analysis and solve the influence of mechanical efficiency of the hydraulic motor andwinding radius in open loop tension control. After the cable tension dynamic analysis,establish the tension control model in the cable release and recycling process.Photoelectric encoder works as the feedback unit in self stowing mooring system, PLCcontrol the horizontal movement of self stowing mooring to follow the rotation movementof the coiling block. The self stowing mooring system change the speed when the cablediameter is changed, and solve the cable sink when the limit switch is contacted.This paper put forward the PDF control algorithm and applied it to the tension control,motor speed control and self stowing mooring system, then acquire the parameters of thecontrol models, according to the parameter design method.The experiments of open loop tension control, hydraulic motor speed control and selfstowing mooring were designed, and tension close-loop control simulation model wasapplied, the results of the researches demonstrate, the hydraulic motor speed control systemand tension close-loop control with PDF algorithm has easy parameter adjustment, excellentdisturbance-handling, small overshoots, fast response and excellent disturbance-handlingability. The self stowing mooring system can response fast when the cable diameter waschanged.
