With the rapid development of Chinese economy, the contradiction whether the oldand new buildings should be destroyed nor protected has become more and moreobviously, then gradually become the major factor in disrupting urban planning, limitingeconomic development. However, many historic buildings were forcibly demolishedjust because it just not satisfied with the modern use of function, which due to the lackof the firm protective philosophy and perfect protective measures of relevantdepartments. This is not only unable to resolve the remaining issues between the old andnew buildings, but also erase the urban-specific, cultural, geographic and resulting inthe loss of historical heritage literature, which is not conducive to the continuation ofthe people’s historical sense of belonging. But at present the protection of historicalbuilding majority belongs to the architectural protection both in home and abroad whileless study has been made from the aspects of structure. So the main work of this paperis to research the practicality of the re-established historical buildings’ protection fromthe structure point which based on the historic buildings’ fa ade, identify the relatedfactors between the new and old structure through the analysis and comparison andarrive at a more appropriate protection scheme, and then analyze the structure’s seismicperformance with the large general-purpose finite element program SAP2000, thusprovide a selection criteria and design standard for the historic building facadesprotection program and make sure the protection scheme is reasonable and feasible.First, this article selected the main manifestations of the historic buildings-facadeto study, summarized the influence level of the impact factors (such as span, cross section, materials and so on) by analyzing the impact factors of the old and newstructures’ collaborative work performance. Then optimized the scheme design whilegot the reasonable structural arrangement, to ensure the protection program of thehistoric buildings’ facades is reasonable in economy.Secondly, the static elastic analysis of the optimized structure was given, theinternal force situation of the structure was analyzed, and the collaborative work state ofthe old and new structure was e×plored. Then the structure was reinforced according tothe relevant norms after identified the weakest part of the e×isting structure. To ensurethe protection program of the historic buildings’ facades is reasonable and feasible.Finally, the performance of the structure under the static pushover role was gainedafter the nonlinear static analysis of the reinforcement structure, the seismicperformance of the structure in rare earthquake was given after observed and analyzedthe destruction of sequence and the destruction of state, the collaborative workperformance of the old and new structure was verified. That will provide a reference forthe future protection of the historic buildings from the aspects of structure.
