The single-cylinder four-stroke gasoline engine is one kind of small gasoline engines. This kind of engines is widely used, but the common problems are big fuel consumption and serious exhaust pollution.This paper introduces the comparison of the power and economy of the single-cylinder four-stroke gasoline engine when fueled with M10, M20, M30and RON93gasoline. The emissions performance was tested when the engine was fueled with M10, M20, M30and RON93gasoline in a small throttle opening and external characteristic. This paper also introduces the feasibility analysis when the engine fueled with high proportion of methanol in the methanol-gasoline blends, and brings up some improve projects.The experimental result shows that without changing the structure of the engine, the power of the engine is close to the data of RON93. The power of the engine is reduced slightly in the external characteristic, the most reduction is only9.9%. The fuel economic efficiency of the engine is enhanced, and the most reduction is about20%. The pollutants in the exhaust reduce significantly when it is supplied with the mixture of methanol and gasoline. After using the three ratios of methanol gasoline respectively, with the increasing proportion of methanol in the fuel, the power of the engine has a downward trend, but the decline is very small. Each percentage of methanol-gasoline blends in the burning process, with the increasing opening of throttle, engine power has a downward trend, but the decline is very small. With the increasing proportion of methanol in the fuel, the fuel consumption rate of the engine decreased.Compared the test results of the three methanol proportion of methanol-gasoline blends, M30is the most outstanding fuel which is a good alternative fuel to replace gasoline. |
