Intermittent energy is refers to the energy that generated discontinuous such as solar energy, wind energy, etc, they dependent on resource conditions. In recent years, intermittent energy power generation technology developed rapidly in China and the proportion in power grid improves continuously, so we should pay attention to the influence on power grid when intermittent energy access it. The power structure in China is that thermal power has a large proportion, peak load regulation is difficult originally, when consider of intermittent energy, peak load regulation is more difficult. This paper establishes two models aiming at power generation with intermittent energy, the two models have different objective function. Research peak load regulation when intermittent energy access system through the analysis and contrast of the two models. Also, take the model generalization in consider in the process of modeling.This paper realizes the objective model using Balmorel on GAMS. Use Balmorel programming ideas, according to the actual situation in China to set up peak load regulation analysis model of different targets, and based on the existing data classification and treatment method to establish the universal platform of peak load regulation. When make wind acceptance and power brownouts analysis, if power grid or data changes, don’t need to program again, only to modify part of the configuration parameters and input interface data, so can get the analysis results.First, this paper research the peak load regulation analysis model that suitable for the electric power system in China, list the target function and constraints, then show the target function and constraints in the software platform, through the software operation commissioning to obtain the results. Target function and constraints use some ideas and models of Balmorel, combine the characteristics of wind power connected to the electricity grid, abandon part of the constraint, also, add some constraints appropriated to our country’s situation to establish the new models. This paper research two models in all, one is that the target function is minimum amount of coal consumption, the other one is that biggest acceptation of wind power. By changing the parameters in models to see the influence on wind power acceptation and unit operation. At the same time, make a comparative analysis of the two models. The two kinds of model each has its characteristics, practical power grid chooses peak load regulation model through the situation of electric model. In the process of modeling, considering the model generalization, make the model more convenient for the users, finally form a model that people can configurate and choose. The example results show the feasibility of the two models.
