The trend of urbanization with the main feature of regional economic and social integration, joint development of the adjacent city group is increasingly clear. The development of the modern metropolis, which requires a central city core and the nearby medium and small cities within a certain area around to get a joint development, as well as the development of modern urban agglomeration, which requires several central cities core and the nearby small and medium sized cities within a certain area surrounding to get a coordinated development, present a growing demand for fast, convenient and efficient transportation support within the region and between regions. As a new means of transport, high-speed railway transport not only carries on the tradition railway transport strengths, but also innovates and integrates a variety of other modes of transportation technology and operational advantages. And with its fast, convenient, stable, low pollution, low energy consumption advantage, high-speed railway has been the modern mainstream of urban development mode of transport. However, due to fast development of high-speed railway, high-speed railway construction and technological innovation are mostly in the dark forward, and the research on the relationship of the high-speed railway and the urbanization is seldom.This thesis firstly analyzes the development trend and features of urbanization in China and worldwide. And then, from two points that process of urbanization increase demand for high-speed rail development and high-speed railway speed up the urbanization process development analyzing the interaction between urbanization and high-speed railway. Finally, using system dynamics, the thesis establishes the interaction mechanism model of the relationship between high-speed railway and urbanization, and basing on the relationship between Beijing-Tianjin high-speed railway and the urbanization process of Beijing and Tianjin, applies the model and further giving evidence to the conclusion, that is construction and operation of high-speed railway promotes the development of urbanization, and the urbanization process further stimulates the development of high-speed railway.
