MH lamps lighting electronics power system is a typical switching converter, and MH lamps are a kind of negative resistance characteristics of a nonlinear time-varying load, it is very complex to deal with during the design process, and at the same time, we should design particular control circuit to match the need for the special load characteristics to ensure the system was stable, and the main control circuit by the DC/DC converter to achieve.In this paper,575W MH lighting electronics power system is work for the field of film and television, we focus on research the DC/DC converter BUCK circuit which provided low voltage and high current. We analysis the switching process on the freewheeling diode and MOSFET, and we also calculation the total losses of system. Finally, we prepare some methods to reduce the total loss of the electronic power system, expect to improve the power efficiency from87%to90%, in order to achieve the purpose of live recording. In this paper, we achieve to reduce the losses of575W MH electronic power system by the application of new material devices such as SiC diodes and the CoolMOS. The power efficiency was improved; and through optimizing the design of the radiator to ensure the electronic power system achieve the purpose of live recording.In the first chapter of this paper, we research the characteristics of MH lamp load and analysis the development of the575W MH lighting electronics power system in details.The second chapter, we analysis the basic knowledge of the DC/DC converter in575W MH electronic power system, and the control strategies are also discussed.Chapter3analyzes the dynamic characteristics and the method of loss calculation on power diodes and MOSFET; then, we analysis the power loss of BUCK converter which provides low voltage, high current for575W MH lighting electronics power system. Finally, through calculating the total system losses, we concluded that: the most losses of system occurred in switching process on power electronic devices.The fourth chapter describes the overview of the development of new materials and device, through comparing to conventional devices, we analysis its dominant characteristics which are applied in575W MH electronic power system. We set up a modeling of SiC diode in PSPICE, simulate in BUCK converter and calculate the total circuit loss. Chapter V analyzes the radiator on electronics power system, we studied a variety materials and structure of radiator. We design some reasonable methods to optimize the thermal design, and achieve the purpose of live recording.
