Research On Quality Control In The Section A Of National Highway No.213by Application Of TQM

In the atmosphere of rapid growing economy of China, the flow of highway traffic is increasing; some of the original low-level highway can no longer meet the transportation requirements. Reconstruction of the highway is an important content in the current highway network construction, in order to reduce cost and relieve traffic pressure. Owing to the unique nature and high difficulty of the alteration works, quality plays a crucial role in the project. It is quality that determines the final completion of the engineering project and influences the related time and cost. In order to make sure of the completion and final use of the reconstruction project, quality management must be emphasized through all segments. Based on the TQM (Total quality management) concepts, this article focused on analyzing the quality characteristics of the highway reconstruction project, regular quality problems and related influencing factors, and then figured out the TQM elements to form a comprehensive quality control system. A case study of the National Highway213A reconstruction project was given to figure out the main responsibility of the collaboration system, and to establish quality control in various stages. Coordination of project quality, schedule, cost was also presented in the TQM system. Finally, a review of the control results and quality evaluation was shown to prove the effectiveness of the TQM system.
