Vehicle ride comfort is to make the vibration and shock environment impact on people’s comfort of a car in the process of moving within the boundaries. So, vehicle ride comfort is evaluated on the basis of the people’s subjective feeling of comfort, and for truck, it includes the performance of keeping the goods intact. It is one of the main performances of the automotive. With the continuous advances in automotive technology, the increasing improvement of road traffic conditions and the continuous improvement of the speed if the automotive, the demand of vehicle ride comfort is increasingly high. Evaluation standard and method of the vehicle ride comfort attract more and more researchers’attention.This paper introduces the ISO2631international standard、absorption power method BS6841British standard and GB4970national standard. Analysis pointed out the advantages and disadvantages in the process of vehicle ride comfort evaluation with these methods, as well as the mutual relations between them. This paper also analyzes the basic theory of the vehicle ride comfort, including human physiological and psychological reactions for vibration and automobile vibration system’s analysis and simplifying. This paper theoretically analyzes the affects of speed and road in the process of vehicle ride comfort evaluation. In order to reflect the vehicle ride comfort of automotive moving in different road, this paper analyzes the choice of test speed and road in the test of vehicle ride comfort. Based on the ISO2631international standard and GB4970national standard, this paper establishes a new vehicle ride comfort evaluation method. The new method gives full consideration to the impact of speed and road in vehicle ride comfort. It also takes into account the affect of the vibration, which is passed from front and rear seats’backrests and foot bearing surface to human body in the process of vehicle ride comfort test. In addition, the new method gives a score as the final result of the evaluation. It is easy to understand for ordinary consumers and compare between different vehicles.According to the road test for two different family cars, the rest results verify the analysis of ISO2631international standards and GB4970national standard. It also verifies the rationality of the new evaluation method proposed in this paper.
