With the rapid development of national economy and the deepening of the urbanization process, urban public transport not only changes in the number, but also put higher request in quality. Urban rail traffic meets the demanded growth of passengers and provides good conditions for the further development of cities. Therefore, as a rapid, punctual, comfortable, safe and environmental protection means of transportation, urban rail traffic is being popular and has a rapid development both home and abroad in recent years. But with the development of urban rail transit, severe wear between wheel and rail and the operating noise makes the situation of urban rail transit more and more severe. Because of the advantages that can effectively reduce wheel/rail force, abrasion and noise and improve the service life of the lines and vehicles, the resilient wheel has been widely applied in foreign low-floor trams, metro vehicles and the subway vehicles between cities. But in our country, the application of resilient wheel is in the initial stages, the dynamics research about the resilient wheel is rare. In this paper, the dynamic performance of the elastic wheel vehicle and the rigidity optimization of the elastic components were studied, which has certain theoretical significance for the development of the elastic wheel vehicle in our country.This paper set up the dynamics model of resilient wheel vehicle system, and deduced its vertical vibration different equation. It simulated the running of resilient wheel vehicle on straight track and curve track by using the software "SIMPACK", and operation conditions including empty, heavy and overweight condition. At first, we calculated the critical velocity of the vehicle in various conditions. Secondly, got the vertical and lateral dynamic corresponding of resilient wheel vehicle by simulation and calculated the stability index. Finally, the paper calculated the vehicle’s safety performance indicators, as well as performance index of wheel-rail interaction, and evaluated the vehicle dynamics performance index by using GB5599-1985<Railway vehicles-Specification for evaluation the dynamic performance and accreditation test> and UIC-518<Testing and approval of railway vehicles from the point of view of their dynamic behavior-Safety-Track fatigue-Ride quality>. Through the comparison with rigid wheel vehicle, the paper analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of the resilient wheel vehicle.Due to the complexity of the resilient wheel structure, the matching between lateral stiffness and longitudinal stiffness is a major problem. Through comparison of influence on dynamic performance indexes of the lateral stiffness and longitudinal stiffness on straight line and curve passing, this article optimized the stiffness of the elastic component by using the road nested of software "SIMPACK" and got a better stiffness match.
