Since the founding of our country, the domestic residences have developed for decades, gone through different phases and stages, while the residential designs and constructions were very different at each stage. But the development of residential industrialization of our country has never stopped. Now, with the rapid development of construction, advanced design concepts, and constantly updates of systems and technology, our residence is moving towards to the higher goals:energy saving, low-carbon, ecology and sustainable. Both domestic and foreign advanced design concepts and practices have confirmed that the residential construction must insist on and improve the way of industrialization. We need to develop residences that are future-oriented, comfortable, livable and sustainable.The domestic residential construction is on the corner of the times and the development of the industry. The author, from a architect’s perspective, bases on the facts of residences are now industrialize, takes residential energy conservation as the goal, is trying to explore a new way and mode of residential design, to solve the current housing problems, to improve the housing performance and quality, and to improve our living standard.First of all, the author will introduce the development process of both residential industrialization and housing design, to analysis and summarize the most important factors affect current housing design, which are the dual goals of solving the problems of industrialization and residential energy saving. Therefore, the author puts forward the new thoughts of "residential energy saving design facing the industrialization of residential industry", and then compares and analysis the relevant factors and main points of energy saving within the industrialization and residential design.Secondly, through the study and analysis of many excellent cases of foreign energy-saving housing designs, the author summarizes the energy-saving strategy during residential industrialization, by combining the previously mentioned factors and the theoretical literature.Finally, the energy-saving design methods are detailed and in-depth explained by the author following the residential design steps. The specific method is to optimize the planning, architectural design, the use of renewable energy and the design of department products. On one hand, we can build efficient and comfortable housing energy saving system (insulation, heat insulation, ventilation), through the optimized planning design, architectural graphic design, envelope design and application of new energy technology. On the other hand, we can perfect energy-saving design, achieve low-carbon construction and low-carbon operation, by integrating industrial technology system’s standardized design concepts, new structural system (SI residential system), renovation and department product system. This can also extend the life of residential, and achieve the energy saving in the whole life cycle of the house.
