| With the fast development of our country’s economy, the quality of people’s lives is improving and the demand of the motor vehicle increasing. The number of the motor vehicle has increased. According to statistical data, the noise pollution from motor vehicles become the main source of the city’s noise pollution. This noise brings great harms to our life and health. Many developed countries, such as Europe, America and Japan, have made many perfect laws and regulations to control the vehicle noise. Our country also developed a series of national laws and regulations to control the vehicle noise pollution. Our country have implemented the second stage of the national standard GB1495-2002"Limits and measurement methods for noise emitted by accelerating motor vehicles" since Jannuaryl,2005. These national laws and regulations not only strongly promote the car noise reduction and guarantee people’s normal life,but also strongly promote the development of the technology of reducing motor vehicle noise. This plays a positive role in protecting environment and developing technology.The noise from the exhaust system is an important source of the automobile noise. With the development of the technology of engine, engine has been greatly improved. The speed and the power have been improved. And, the noise from the exhaust pipe is also becoming larger. At present, the most effective method to reduce the exhaust system noise is adding exhaust muffler. However, the resistance of the engine exhaust pipe with muffler will increase and the exhaust pressure will also increase. This will reduce engine power and affect the performance of the engine. So, we need this muffler, which has high efficiency and low power loss.In this paper, we use GT-Power software to establish the model of the2100engine and simulate exhaust noise. Then, we design three types of muffler according to the2100engine exhaust noise characteristics. And, we use GT-Power software to simulate three types of muffler. The results show that the third type muffler has better performance. |
