As the economy develops, people have much higher requirements on living environment and have paid more attention on real estate landscape design. Not only does it improve people’s lifestyles, it also contributed to the update of urban landscape. The real estate landscape of contemporary China has a variety of styles. Different styles show the characteristics and positioning of the properties, and present practical value and significance to the modernization of China’s landscape. The academic study of the real estate landscape is mainly concentrated on the design theory and methodology, not too much on the causes and significance of a variety of styles in the real estate landscape which lack of theoretical guidance.Through the introduction of semeiology, syntactic, semantics, and pragmatics, we will examine these phenomena in the real estate landscape design from the perspective of semiotics. Semeiology as a special analysis method has a broad application and user groups. In recent years, semeiology has been used in many areas with great practical significance and guiding role, exploring certain phenomenon from different angles.The results show that:(1) Changsha, the real estate landscape is broadly divided into eight styles: Southeast Asian style, American style, Italian style, French style, England style, Spanish style, Chinese style and modernist style.(2) In Changsha, due to the climate, topography, materials, maintenance costs and other factors, some of the exotic landscape style in Changsha has not been a very good performance, but the new Chinese real estate welcomed by the market as a fledgling stage.(3) Consumers to choose what kind of real estate landscape by their life experiences, affected by the level of education, and aesthetic values and other factors.(4) The developers paid great attention to the naming of properties for sale, they used tactics can be divided into a simile, metaphor, synecdoche, metonymy. By name to reflect their own characteristics, and consumption of identity and belonging.The main conclusions are as follows:(1) Rational view of the "Western-style" prevalent in the real estate landscape. On the one hand, foreign residential landscape art form in contrast to old-fashioned residential and domestic, to bring a freshness to the consumer. On the other hand, the so-called turnip greens each have love, consumers can choose a living environment and lifestyle according to their own needs and preferences, different styles of "Western Landscape" gave consumers more choice.(2) The emergence of new Chinese style is a challenge to the traditional Chinese garden art the face of external landscape. The new Chinese landscape symbols of elements extracted from the traditional garden, and the use of modern real estate landscape design, more in line with the Chinese people’s aesthetic.(3) Foreign culture can be absorbing, but eventually to return to the culture of this nation. Only to explore the traditional culture of the nation, and as the design of the foundation and soul of Chinese garden design and development to find the right way.In conclusion, this article seeks to combine semiotic analysis and the real estate landscape, try to open up a new way of thinking for China’s real estate landscape design, and provide positive guidance and role in promoting the development of the landscape industry in China, and, ultimately, seeks for win-win situation of Chinese and Western landscape.
