Automatic sprinkler system is an important part of fire safety, which has been used in various types of buildings as an effective, economical extinguishing measure. Sprinkler system doesn’t work well in a fire accident because it has some problems in it and is lack of management, causing a large number of casualties and property losses. So lots of people pay attention to the reliability of automatic sprinkler system.The automatic sprinkler system is regarded as a research subject and the wet sprinkler system is the example. Firstly, the composition of the automatic sprinkler system and the relationship with the fire and the basic theory of reliability are described. Failure reasons of the system and the components with the rate of failure according to the literatures and statistical data are analyzed and summarized to figure out the key components of the system so that the models and reasons of components’failure can be analyzed. The reliability block diagram of the system is drawn according to the function of components of automatic sprinkler system.Weibull model is the chosen way to establish a failure model of a buildings’sprinkler system according to the maintenance recorded data and some statistical data of it because Weibull model has been widely used in many kinds of failure model. The Weibull ++ is a professional software for Weibull model. With the help of it, the regression curve of mathematical models of the recorded data of components is obtained and the value of parameter is made sure so that the reliability function of all the components can be ensured. The reliability model of the system is made by the use of the reliability block diagram of the system.In the end, the reliability of the sprinkler system in the building is calculated by the Weibull model and an optimization program is designed according to the reliability level.
