Power system static security analysis is a basic calculation in power dispatching, operation and planning. And it is one of the important measures in power system safe and stable operation. After occurring predictive contingency, static security analysis is to analyze and judge whether the system exists overload or voltage limit. Using the method of predictive contingency analysis is to know in advance whether the system exists hidden danger, so that corresponding measures could be taken to prevent it as soon as possible. By this way, we can make power system turn into the secure normal state from the insecure the normal state and avoid equipment damage caused by overload or voltage limit. The core content of power system static security analysis is power flow calculation with breaking many times. Therefore increasing power flow calculation speed and realizing Online or real-time power system static security analysis is very important. With the wide application of multiple processors, in order to fully utilize the advantage of multiple processors and enhance the performance of programs, many programmers use parallel technology to speed up the efficiency of the implementation of the program itself, and achieved good results. This thesis analyzes the OpenMP parallel technology based on shared memory parallel programming model as well as the factor of OpenMP parallel performance, and then a method of improved program performance is given. According to Newton-Raphson power flow’s structure characteristics, using the multithread and single thread to crisscross the execution of the parallel reduces the cost of repeatedly creating multi-threaded, realizes the parallelization of Newton-Raphson power flow. Besides this thesis analyzes and verifies the effectiveness of Newton-Raphson power flow based on OpenMP by 4-scale power system equivalent network examples. The experiment and results show that combining with improving the performance of parallel programs design method can effectively improve parallel program execution efficiency based on OpenMP.
