Under the development in smart grid, in China research papers related to the smart power utilization is relatively less than generation, transmission and distribution. Technology of grid friendly power utilization proposed, providing technologies and references for China’s development of smart power utilization. The development of grid friendly power utilization, make the user directly participate and add to improve power system security and stability. In this paper, according to the principle of friendly among grid, load and user, grid friendly smart load center is built to meet the needs of user and grid.Grid friendly smart load center is established adhering to the grid friendly technology. Grid, user and load can interact. The supply of the power grid can be active adjusted by load. To ensure that user normal use of electricity, to adjust the grid peak rather than by power cutting, make all load cut off in some families, even the basic lighting cannot be guaranteed. According to the pricing policy, valley electricity price is actively utilized to fill the valley of grid demand to improve grid utilization while saving electricity. User’s equipment is managed and the reasonable electricity suggestions are provided to user. An intelligent, friendly and two-way interactive grid friendly smart load center is established gather with controlling, monitoring, network, communication and suggestion.This paper analyses the development of the smart grid and grid friendly power utilization technology. Summarize the preliminary research work in Henan. Load is reclassified to apply to the grid friendly smart load center, according to the reclassification of the load, control functions are designed for different loads. Grid demand, pricing policy, and device management as a basis for grid friendly smart load center, and consider the dual price policy. Analysis of functions, design and selection hardware, the control part contains MCU and wireless transmitter module, including the measurement part, the display part, the alarm part and the communication part; Software control and friendly man-machine interface design and debug. Through the combination of hardware and software achieve functions for grid friendly smart load center. And finally the grid friendly smart load center is proven through a numerical example to the grid and user’s double-friendly.
