With China’s sustained and rapid economic development, industry and people’s living load demand for power increase the dramatically, which makes the power system networks become increasingly complex, the voltage stability problem has become increasingly prominent. Although our country has no serious voltage collapse accident, the power grid structure is not very reasonable, with the rapid growth of load in the future is likely to happen large-scale voltage collapse, it is necessary to research on this question, to prevent such accidents.This thesis first summarizes the main content for static voltage stability and its development status, I introduces the current determination of static voltage stability index of various algorithms, and points out their advantages and disadvantages. Analysis of the impact of the power system transmission line, power generation system and load on voltage stability, and proposed the measures to improve the voltage stability.It proposes the characteristic structure analysis method, analysis of the minimum modulus eigenvalue and the corresponding right eigenvector and voltage instability.And we can derive the power flow equations of Jacobi matrix of the minimum eigenvalue sensitivity mathematical formula.Conclusion: when the system fails, the minimum eigenvalue will gradually decrease to close to0, the minimum eigenvalue of a control variable sensitivity change is bigger, the little more unstable. And then put forward based on the eigenvalue sensitivity change voltage stability problem of optimal control algorithm.
