The solar arrays are an important part of the spacecraft, the good and bad ofwhich directly effects the operating performance and even the success or failure ofthe spacecraft in orbit. Due to the solar arrays are not deployed or the performancedegradation,the failure events of the spacecraft are both taken place at home andaboard. With the development of science and technology, the demand of the dynamicperformance and operating reliability for the solar arrays becomes higher and higher.It is of great significance that developing the fault dynamic simulation,and the test ofthe dynamic characteristics of the solar arrays. In this paper,therefore,the dynamicmodel of the solar arrays is set up, the numerical simulation of the fault solar arrays iscarried out and the structure dynamic performance of the solar arrays is developed.According to the compose characteristics of the solar arrays,, this paper willdivide the solar arrays into the various sub-structures, including the panels, thelinking hinges, the locking mechanism, the synchronous mechanism, the drivingmechanism.the model is established, based on ADAMS software secondarydevelopment function. On the basis of the model, the simulation is carried out on thedynamic performance when the faulty solar arrays are expanded and the kineticcharacteristic is obtained from the solar arrays existing the typical faults, such as thehinges failure, the locking mechanism failure, the fault rope synchronous institutions.The simulation results show that: the fault hinges and rope linkage synchronousinstitutions will cause that the solar array cannot be accurately and stability deployed;due to the restrictive effects of the synchronous belt, the failure of the lockingmechanism have little effect on the solar arrays.This paper will also develop the structure simulation equipment and build the testsystem. The experimental modal analysis software using DASP analyzes the structuredynamic performance of the solar arrays and indicates the factors, including thenumber of the panels and hinges, the synchronous rope institutions preload, the hingedriving shaft clearance, the hinge chain insurance reform axis gap and so on, for the influence of the dynamic characteristics of the deploying solar arrays.
