The electric power steering system is a key component of the electric car andit’s the research focus of the automotive sector. The excellent EPS system greatlyaffect the comfort, convenience and affect the driver’s sense of the way. Reasonableselection of the ESP system parameters directly related to their work in the bestcondition, whether the best play of the booster effect of the power system, so it willneed to calibrate the EPS system tuning parameters. A good calibration system cangreatly shorten the development process of the electric power steering system andImprove the efficiency of research and development. In the EPS system applicationdevelopment process, to help achieve the best results, maintain good performance, you need to do a lot of calibration tests several parameters of EPS. As manyparameters, the calibration process is complicated, so flexible and functionalcalibration system will play an increasingly important role in EPS development. In this paper, based on in-depth study of the current calibration system, developed a calibration system based on the CCP for the electric power steering. Thesystem consists of the ECU, CAN card, and calibration of the master side of the PCplatform software. The calibration system took into account the calibration of theEPS system, the ECU required for function. In order to improve the calibrationsystem’s versatility, the communication protocol, between the host computer and theEPS system, adopt the internationally used CCP protocol. This greatly enhances thescalability and versatility of the system. The electric power steering system uses a micro-controller16of the FreescaleMC9S12DG128. This type of chip is cost-effective and have abundant peripheralresources, a wide range of applications in automotive electronic control system. Thecontrol software of ECU include the underlying software, CCP driver package, and application software. The first chapter introduces the research of domestic andinternational background and significance of the research. The second chapterdescribes the data structure of the CCP. Chapter3describes the structure of the EPSelectric power system, analysis the functional of calibration software need to achieve, introduce the calibration system workflow and some hardware circuit diagram; Thefourth chapter describes the CAN driver and CCP driver design; Chapter5uses thenewly developed calibration software to calibrate the test.
