In recent years, the development of smart grid has become the latest trends in to-day’s world of power system development and change, and is considered to be the great technological innovation of the21st century power system. The smart grid can realize a complete system of real-time monitoring and management of user and devices, it’s a series of general term, it can solve problems of accurate to provide energy, demand side management, grid free access, multi-power interactive and distributed energy stor-age. The smart grid mainly includes smart generation, smart transmission, intelligent power distribution and smart intelligent substation. The core component of smart grid is intelligent distribution, it can control micro-network flexible, it also can improve the stability of power supply of the demand side and management level.Because the grid operating environment is complex and changing, we need to de-velop an advanced distribution and power control terminal. In this article we introduce the design of intelligent power distribution digital terminal with AODV routing func-tion, it follows the protocol with Q/GDW376.1-2009standard and the protocol with DL/T645standard. It supports real-time and timing query, the data types include ener-gy data, AC to DC analog, power curve, power quality, event records, etc. In wireless communications, it uses AODV protocol to find router between terminal and cascade terminal, and master, and set up a small LAN to share and transfer data.This paper introduces the hardware and software design of the terminal first. Hardware platform based on the ARM9200, according to the functional requiremen-t, it’s divided into the main control module, communication module and interactive module. Software is based on Linux operating system, it’s also divided into the infras-tructure layer, the device management layer, the message control layer, business logic layer and the application layer. Then the article introduce the reactor model system, op-eration mechanism, and two types of data acquisition. On the basis of in-depth study of the AODV protocol and algorithms, we proposed the design of the AODV protocol and realized in our terminal which design by ourselves. Finally, we set up the experimental platform, test the performance of AODV and analyze the results.
