The randomness of structural design parameter exists everywhere. And this kind of randomness usually bring uncertainty into the response of the structure. The structure reliability analysis can offer a probability value to measure the uncertainty level of the structure response, which by studying on the influence of the structure design parameter to the structure response. Along with the the technology development of finite element analysis and motion simulation, the spread of reliability analysis meet a great chance in the engineering field. Bogie is the key component to ensure the quality of vehicle operation. The bogie need to endure all kinds of loads, which are transferred both from carbody and railway, and the dynamic performance of the vehicle should also be guaranteed in bogie design. Bogie frame is one of the most important component of the bogie, its function is load bearing and installation base for other parts, so frame reliability is always the keypoint of bogie design and analysis.The paper selects a bogie frame as the research object. It’s from certain high speed passenger train of our country. Several random factors of frame design have been taken into the consideration.Establish the limit state equation of frame static strength failure. The frame finite element model is created in ANSYS environment and calculate its static strength. Meanwhile, the fatigue strength of the frame is also analyzed in this paper by using the evaluation mothed of UIC-ORE, transform the muti-axial stress condition to the uniaxial stress condition. The analysis result shows that both of the static strength and the fatigue strength of the frame are all meet the relevant requirement.Although the static strength and fatigue strength can pass the evaluation of relevant code when the design variable is treat as constant value, the further study on static strength reliability is start with considering the randomness of the major variable of the bogie frame. The paper determined two reliability condition according to the result of static strength analysis, and carry out the analysis by using PDS, which is a reliability analysis module integrated in ANSYS. Due to the differency of the failure state equations and the loads, there is no failure sample appear in the reliability loop, so the reliability of the frame static strength under the exceptional loads condition can be regarded as dependable, but in the simulate loads condition, the reliability can’t meet100%. The sensitivity analysis find out the factors which most influence the frame static strength, the result shows that the torsion and the vertical load on the side beam have significant impacts on static strength.The source of the random input variable is vital to the result of reliability analysis. In this paper, these is a attempt of obtaining the load time history from vehicle dynamic simulation by using SIMPACK. With proper statistic process, the data is imported into the ANSYS reliability analysis using Monte Carlo method to carry out the reliability analysis. The response surface of static strength is fitted by the result data of Monte Carlo simulation, and the approximate performance function has been given with the data of response surface.
