The bogie frame is one of the most important components of bogie, it’s the foundation of other components’ installation. The EMU bogie frame should support not only the car-body, motor and other kinds of parts, but also it need to pass on the traction, braking force and various lateral, vertical and longitudinal forces between the car and the wheel set. Its reliability affects the performance and the safety of the EMU directly. What’s more, the structure, service status and working environment of the bogie frame are very complicated. Due to the randomness of the load and material attribute of the random parameters structural system, the failure of the bogie frame often leads to disastrous consequences. Therefore, it is urgent to pursue the research on the safety and reliability of the bogie frame. This thesis presents a research on reliability and reliability sensitivity problems of the EMU bogie frame in ensuring the safety of the high speed train premise, based on the reliability theory and reliability sensitivity technique for mechanical structures. The main work of the thesis as follows,(1) The parametric model of the bogie frame is built. After that, use the finite element pretreatment software (HyperMesh) to divide the grids and establish the finite element model.(2) The static analysis of the bogie frame model is carried out. According to the UIC615-4to confirm loads and boundary conditions, it divides two working conditions, the supernormal load and the simulation operation load. Though finite element (FE) analysis, the location of the maximum stress is consistent with that in experiment.(3) The stochastic finite element method (SFEM) and response surface method (RSM) have a wide application in reliability analysis of complex structural systems at present. In the thesis, a method for reliability analysis of the bogie frame by integrating the theories of stochastic finite element and response surface method is proposed. In the method, Kriging model is used to obtain the approximately explicit function of the response of the bogie frame with respect to the random variables.(4) Based on the probabilistic perturbation method, the reliability design theory, the reliability sensitivity technique, the fourth moment technique and the Edgeworth series, the problem of the bogie frame with arbitrary distribution parameters was extensively discussed.
