So, we set up this discussion group, for the use of such air duct and the use of high-rise buildings Study on the safety performance. In these experiments, we selected phenolic duct, metal duct, polyurethane duct, mineral wool duct, polystyrene duct, outsourcing sheep felt the metal duct for model types of ducts to conduct fire tests. The point of these experiments is to investigate the product in a fire district’s application. The fire load in the experiments meet the conditions which be told in the paper, while in accordance with experimental results, based on extensive analysis and discussion by, draw the following conclusions:1. The metal duct was basically integrated throughout the experiment which indicated the metal duct did not make the spread of fires in the fire room,and there was no expansion of the fire. It can be safely used in the building.2. Under selected experimental conditions, four types of the compound insulated ducts in the fire room collapsed when burning, and they showed the same combustion characteristics in the experiments. The increased fire load which is due to theirs own combustion is relatively small to the whole fire load, negligible; four types of the compound insulated ducts in the adjacent room had some difference in integrity.3. In the course of the experiment, the phenolic duct running through the wall of the adjacent room was almost integrity, it did not make the extension of the fire.4. In the experiments, the polyurethane duct, mineral wool duct, polystyrene duct running through the wall of the adjacent room partly collapsed, which showed us these types of the ducts would make the extension of the fire. But, the partly collapse and the combustion of the ducts did not ignited the sofa below, it showed these ducts spread the fire limitedly. The second, the strict measures had been done on the joint of the ducts through the wall, such as plastering cement mortar, the use of the seal materials in the practical engineering, although the spread of flame or Mars through the hole of the adjacent room might make some dangerous to the room, the probability of the damages by these ducts and the hole in the wall would be decreased.5. Under the condition of constructing some additional measures in the practice, such as using flame-retardant adhesive tape during the installation of the ducts and do not fix some combustible materials around the ducts through the opening of the wall, the compound insulated duct which meet the grade B1of the standard can be used as air conditioning and ventilation ducts.6. The phenomena and results in the experiments can be used as reference and basis for modification of the code. |
