In recent years, due to prolonged use most high-grade road in china is facing local surface damage problem, which will accelerate overall damage of road. Asphalt pavement is the main structure of high-order road in china. There are more than95%of high-order road apply it. As a result, a method to detect and repair the micro-crack in asphalt pavement and prevent further damage is important for better carrying traffic pressure and extending pavement life.For the micro-crack in asphalt pavement, this paper design a set of equipment, which could detecting and repair micro-crack in the early stage of its formatting. The purpose of this equipment is trough the running of the equipment on pavement, automatically detect the surface crack and measure its location. Then using the modified asphalt coiled material in the equipment repair the pavement.The content of this paper deals with two main problems in design process. The first one is determine detect method according pavement crack. Using pulse couple neural networks enhanced vehicle camera to obtain the crack image, removing the noise in the image caused by light or camera conditions, using self-similarity in sub-type theory to detect the edge of crack. This is the basic of measure the location of crack. The second problem is determining repair method. Adapt microwave heating technology to deal with the crack, which is proved to be useful and superior by amount of microwave experiments. The two problem solved in this paper is an crucial basics for further equipment manufacture.
