With the rise of global economic development and industrialization, human society’s demand for energy is gradually increased, and traditional energy sources are dwindling reserves. Various countries have been working to develop the use of renewable energy and green energy in order to achieve the sustainable development of human society. Based on the consolidated reserves of the stability of various factors, solar energy come to the fore from a variety of renewable energy, solar energy emerge become the most suitable for sustainable development strategy the new renewable green energy. However, due to the cost of photovoltaic power generation is too high and the use of solar energy is not enough, in this context, this paper use concentrator photovoltaic technology which can effectively improve the utilization of solar energy focusing on design of automatic sun tracking system.This article first modeling and simulation of a solar cell to analyze the output characteristics of solar cells. Then compare several commonly used condenser performance and economy, and select the Fresnel concentrator. Discussed on the basis of Domestic and foreign common types of tracking mode comparative analysis, this paper presents the design of the automatic tracking system based on the image sensor of the sun. The automatic tracking system using image sensor detects the position of the sun changes, design imaging body by the principle of pinhole imaging, then the sun projection into the spot image can be collected by the image sensor. Locate the deflection angle of the sun by the spot image, and then simplify locating and tracking features of the images collected, the final results obtained control of stepper motor rotation corresponds to the number of steps, that is driven rotate part of the implementation in the two direction corresponding angle to achieve tracking.According to the function of the system analysis and requirements, this paper design tracking system hardware and software. The paper selected the image sensor, processor, stepper motor drive, main design the imaging institutions, DSP peripheral circuit, the image acquisition circuit and the motor control circuit. Finally, the experiments were carried out on the system, transmit rotate steps of the stepper motor and yaw angle to the computer by SCI,the experimental results show that the system achieved the expected objectives of the study.
